Getting back to work

The Bounce Back to Work journey focuses on the people who have the potential to return to work and to their community roles. Whether a driver, HR administrator or coach, this rehabilitation journey enables patients to get back to work and continue to contribute to their community.​

Facilitating Learning

Bounce Back to Learning journey is a programme that aims to upskill people who have become disabled mentally or physically. It gives someone who may have been in a sporting career the opportunity to learn new skills and possibly enter a corporate environment.

Restoring dignity

Bounce Back to Dignity focuses on rehabilitation to give patients the independence to perform the basic tasks of functional living. This includes restoring their abilities to eat, dress, go to the bathroom, and gain basic mobility – giving them the ability to care for themselves.

In many cases, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and a range of other medical services may be necessary to get patients back to their former selves or into a new normal post their traumatic ordeals


There is no limit on the number of volunteers needed to provide these services. More medical professionals onboard means that more people can be helped and possibly make their way back to the workforce.

      Companies supplying new equipment and consumables, and are interested in contributing towards a good cause are encouraged to contact Phila Sonke Wellness Initiative to expand their network of ethical suppliers who can support their vision and their clients.

      Anyone who has become disabled and has a lesson to share; or has a passion to help people with disabilities and wants to encourage someone else through a similar event can sign up to be a mentor.
