Sifiso Ngcobo

Sifiso Ngcobo currently runs a monthly support group at Dobsonville Stadium. Before his incident, he worked for the Kaizer Chiefs soccer club.

In April 2017, he was involved in a road rage incident where he was shot in the neck, resulting in quadriplegia. Upon arrival at the hospital, he was placed in the ICU on a ventilator because he could not breathe on his own.

“When I left hospital in a wheelchair, I could not even push it myself and needed help,” said Sifiso. “Rehabilitation has helped me not only learn to move again, but it has helped restore my life to something worth living. Before my accident, I was irresponsible and careless. Now I understand how valuable life is and I want to use my experiences to help other people who are going through a similar situation. I don’t know where I would be without the rehabilitation I’ve received.”

He is part of the Bounce Back to Learning programme where he is completing a course in social media and marketing so that he can re-enter the workforce.
